Crane Operator Classes Markham - Crane operator training is for operators and supervisors of overhead lifting machine. The course is suitable for both current and new operators. Course content addresses applicable federal, provincial and state safety regulations. The first component of training consists of complete in-class lessons and test. After that is a hands-on customized session along with practical instruction and evaluation.

Course content applies to all types and categories of overhead lifting machines. Particular instruction would concentrate on aspects of crane operation utilized at the workplace of the trainee. Upon completing the course, people training will know how to operate particular overhead lifting machines, attachments and related components efficiently and safely.

The purpose of the operator course is to identify any potentially dangerous habits which an operator could develop when operating an overhead crane. Costly damage to equipment and products could be prevented with correct habits. Training reduces the chance of a workplace incident or injury occurring.

The duration of the course is eight hours of classroom instruction followed by a few hours of on-site, hands-on, customized training. Participants are graded on their knowledge of training material through an evaluation of their practical knowledge and written testing. The minimum acceptable score is 80%.

The in-class session, the trainee would learn regarding causes of damages and occurrences, guidelines and legislation, internal responsibility, hazard awareness, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, design principles and basic equipment, safe hosting/operating techniques, pre-shift equipment inspections, equipment applications/rigging, kinds of hardware, hitches and angles, operator/pedestrian safety, hand signals for slingers and operators, flipping/turning loads safely.

The practical training and evaluation portion of the course should be pre-scheduled. This customized portion of the training would be held at the trainees' facility. The duration of this practical training component is an hour or two. Two operators at a time will be trained by the instructor about skills such as right rigging practices, safe operation and planning the lift.

After completing both the in-class instruction and the practical training and evaluation, the trainee would be tested via an exam. Every participant would be required to sign the safety rules. Successful trainees will be provided with individual wallet certificates. The company would be given a framed wall certificate.
